Christine Tomlinson is a lecturer and interdisciplinary researcher in the School of Social Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. The editor has previously served as a game studies specialist with the Digital Democracies Institute at Simon Fraser University, a user research lead for UX/UI with Activision, and a consultant for design, player behavior, and multiplayer dynamics. Christine’s research focuses on video game content, player experiences and gaming culture, and online streaming and has been featured in Information, Communication & SocietyConvergence; and Acta Ludologica. A longtime fan of the Dragon Age video game series, Christine has expended a great deal of time exploring Thedas in addition to publishing a guide on using Dragon Age in the classroom as part of Learning, Education, & Games Volume 4: 50 Games to Use for Inclusion, Equity, and Justice and on players’ use of religion as a mechanic for worldbuilding in the Fictional Practices of Spirituality collection.
